May

  • Dr. Grinberg gives keynote address at Mayo allied health symposium. Dr. Grinberg is the keynote speaker at Mayo Clinic's Research Allied Health Association (RAHA) Symposium. The annual RAHA Symposium, now in its sixth year, provides a venue for allied health staff to showcase their accomplishments, network with colleagues, and be recognized and celebrated for their contributions to research at Mayo Clinic.

April

  • Dr. Grinberg speaks at ISFTD EMCR. Dr. Grinberg gives a plenary talk at the International Society for Frontotemporal Dementias Early and Mid-Career Researcher (ISFTD EMCR) Symposium. Her topic is "Navigating an Evolving FTD Landscape: Scientific Frontiers, Collaboration and Career Choices for Early Investigators."
  • Dr. Grinberg gives keynote address at Synuclein event. Dr. Grinberg is the keynote speaker of the 2026 Synuclein Biomarker and Pathology Summit.

March

  • Dr. Grinberg participates at AD/PD 2026. By invitation, Dr. Grinberg is participating in the preconference think tank of AD/PD 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She also leads a plenary session at the conference titled "Understanding Neurodegenerative Diseases Today: Lessons from Clinicopathological Correlations and the Ongoing Role of Neuropathology in the Biomarker Age."
  • Dr. Grinberg leads at CONy 2026. Dr. Grinberg serves as a section lead at the 20th World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) in Krakow, Poland. She also leads the CONy debate, "Should We Treat Preclinical Alzheimer's Based on Biomarker Evidence Only?"

February

  • Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology article published. Dr. Grinberg's article titled "Clinicopathological study of chronic traumatic encephalopathy pathology in a population-based cohort" was published in Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology.

January

  • In Acta Neuropathologica paper accepted. A paper by Jonathan Chen and Felipe L. Pereira, Ph.D., titled "Disentangling on and off-target binding in flortaucipir PET: A voxel-to-voxel p-tau, ferric iron, and MAO-B histology-to-flortaucipir PET comparison" was accepted for publication in In Acta Neuropathologica.
  • Annals of Neurology paper accepted. Jonathan Chen is the co-author of a paper accepted into Annals of Neurology. The title is "Tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease uniquely affects sulcal depths."

2025

December

  • Dr. Grinberg wins Cure Alzheimer's grant. Dr. Grinberg has been awarded a two-year grant from the Cure Alzheimer's fund for a project titled "Linking Sleep Dysfunction to Tau-Related Degeneration Across Alzheimer's Disease Variants."
  • Article published in Alzheimer's and Dementia. Jonathan Chen, Dr. Periera, Lucile H. Zhu and Dr. Grinberg published "Unveiling the distinct roles of p-tau, iron and MAOB in neurobiological basis of F18‐flortaucipir signal with voxel‐to‐voxel histology to PET analysis in different tauopathies" in the journal Alzheimer's and Dementia.
  • Dr. Pereira speaks at TREAT-AD. Dr. Pereira gave a talk at a Target Enablement to Accelerate Therapy Development for Alzheimer's Disease (TREAT-AD) meeting.
  • Dr. Grinberg named as a 2025 influential researcher. Dr. Grinberg was included in Clarivate's list of highly cited researchers of 2025.
  • JAMA Neurology paper accepted. Dr. Grinberg's paper titled "Sex differences in amyloid and cognitive outcomes" was accepted for publication in JAMA Neurology.
  • Gowoon Son, Ph.D., accepted to scholar program. Dr. Son was selected for the American Association of Neuropathologists Neurodegenerative Disease Scholars Program.

October

  • Winning poster presentation by Gowoon Son, Ph.D. Dr. Son won first place for her poster presentation at the 2025 James C. and Sarah K. Kennedy Dean of Research Retreat, hosted by Mayo Clinic in Florida.
  • Dr. Grinberg leads at fall ADRC meeting. Dr. Grinberg led a Neuropathology Core meeting session and subsequent roundtable discussion at the fall 2025 meeting of the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Centers Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers program.

August

  • Dr. Son won Society for Neuroscience award. Dr. Son was awarded the society's Trainee Professional Development award, which recognizes scientific merit and excellence in research. Recipients receive a travel stipend to offset the costs of attending Neuroscience 2025 as well as a complimentary registration. All in-person recipients present their abstract during a special poster session and attend two professional development workshops during the meeting.

March

  • Dr. Grinberg named as a 2024 influential researcher. Dr. Grinberg was included in Clarivate's list of highly cited researchers of 2024.

2024

July

  • Grinberg Lab presentation at AAIC24. Published researchers from the Grinberg Lab presented at the 2024 Alzheimer's Association International Conference in Philadelphia. They shared the lab's recent findings, which advance knowledge about Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

April

  • Grinberg Lab presented at AAIC Neuroscience Next. Dr. Grinberg's research team presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference's "Neuroscience Next" hybrid hubs international conference. As one of the most notable events for Alzheimer's and dementia research and clinical practice globally, AAIC Neuroscience Next supports and promotes young and upcoming investigators in the field. The conference was hosted in seven cities worldwide. Dr. Grinberg's lab was present virtually and on-site at the San Francisco hub to present the team's most recent findings, which help expand knowledge about Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
