SUMMARY

The field of interest of Nabil Wasif, M.D., is cancer research, specifically malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas and breast, as well as melanoma.

In particular, Dr. Wasif is interested in the use of large cancer databases to look at quality of care, disparities in care and outcomes following treatment.

Focus areas

Examples of Dr. Wasif's ongoing projects include:

  • Overuse of diagnostic imaging for melanoma and associated cost implications
  • Decision analysis modeling to guide clinical decisions regarding surgical management of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas
  • Outcomes following treatment of small bowel carcinoid tumors
