Jeffrey R. Basford, M.D., Ph.D., has been involved in rehabilitation-related research as a member of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic since 1982. His clinical responsibilities and research interests emphasize neurological rehabilitation and musculoskeletal pain.
Dr. Basford's combination of medical training, a background in physics and clinical practice experience has helped him advance the science of neurological rehabilitation and find ways to reduce patients' musculoskeletal pain. His scientific training has contributed to his clinical decision-making and honed his ability to formulate meaningful and answerable research questions that address patients' unmet needs.
