In-vivo Testing of a Novel Audio Communication and Noise Protection System for MRI
Jacksonville, Fla.
The purpose of this study is to employ an MRI audio system that incorporates MR compatible speaker and microphone in specially designed earpieces to deliver high quality audio and detect the patient’s voice directly inside the patient’s ear.
It will also provide realtime feedback of the sound exposure to the operator by continuously monitoring the sound pressure level (SPL) within the patient’s ear. This in turn will allow the operator to modify the imaging parameters to maintain the noise exposure within a permissible range.
