Under the leadership of its inaugural director, the late Amir Lerman, M.D., a world-renowned physician-scientist, the center built a legacy of innovation, collaboration and translational research that continues to shape its work today.

About Dr. Herrmann
Dr. Herrmann is a nationally recognized leader in cardiovascular medicine and research. He was named Director of the Cardiovascular Research Center in June 2026. Dr. Herrmann's work spans scientific discovery, translational research and mentorship, with a focus on advancing innovations that improve cardiovascular health. Dr. Herrmann leads the center's efforts to foster collaboration, accelerate research and translate scientific discoveries into better outcomes for patients.
