Mayo Clinic's Office of Research Postdoctoral Affairs encourages current and future investigators to compete for research funding grants and facilitates applications and approvals. Training programs supported by the office include but are not limited to:
Grants provide institutional research training opportunities (including international opportunities) to trainees at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels. Resources provided through the grants support the training of outstanding clinician-scientists in clinically relevant research areas.
Undergraduate and predoctoral training programs introduce students to basic and translational research early in their careers and allow them to explore disciplines in which they may later choose to specialize. Postdoctoral training focuses on advanced and specialized areas of research and offers opportunities to study clinically applicable questions.
Training grant programs at Mayo Clinic enhance predoctoral and postdoctoral research training, including short-term research training, and help ensure that a diverse and highly trained workforce is available to meet future needs.
