Phillip M. Satow
Co-founder, The Jed Foundation
In 2000, Phillip M. Satow and his family founded The Jed Foundation, a public charity committed to reducing the young adult suicide rate and improving the mental health support provided to students by universities nationwide.
The foundation is collaborating with more than 1,500 universities to provide more than 3 million college students with mental health and suicide prevention programming.
Satow is currently serving as president of the board of The Jed Foundation and is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, a federally funded public-private partnership. He previously founded JDS Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical and natural ingredient company, and now serves as chairman of its board of directors.
Before founding JDS, Satow served as executive vice president of Forest Laboratories, one of the leading specialty pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. He received a bachelor's degree from Columbia College and a master's degree from Georgetown University.
