Chief Operating Officer, Outcomes Pharmaceutical Health Care
A graduate of the Drake University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Patty Kumbera has been active in the evolution of Medicare Part D Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services since they were introduced in 2006.
Kumbera urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Medicare Part D plan sponsors to regard MTM as beyond a basic necessity and comprehend its profound potential for enhancing quality health care and reducing costs for all parties involved in its delivery. She and her colleagues' business model led to the Outcomes MTM program in 1999.
Kumbera received the Alumni Achievement Award from Drake University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 2009. In 2011, she implemented MTM services at the nation's largest patient-centered medical home.
Now a key member of instrumental health care leadership forums and committees, Kumbera has been named one of the "50 Most Influential Pharmacists" by American Druggist, an honor she spends each day continuing to uphold.
