Mekayla I. Beaver is a senior design researcher and strategist with many years of experience using human-centered design methods to create positive change. At the Center for Innovation, Beaver helps teach design research skills and facilitate innovation throughout Mayo Clinic.
Whether she is working on an upfront strategy or a detailed product refinement, Beaver knows how to uncover deep insights about people and turn those insights into something actionable. She has developed and guided innovation projects for a wide range of companies within the U.S. and abroad, including Johnson & Johnson, Design that Matters, Landcare Research, Eli Lilly, and Steelcase.
Beaver draws on experience across a broad set of industries, with particular depth in health, sustainability and education. Before working with Mayo, Beaver spent many years in design research activities with cross-disciplinary teams at IDEO, a world-renowned hub of design thinking and innovation.
