Director, Strategic Marketing and Experience Design, Nurture by Steelcase
Margaret Alrutz, who specializes in strategic design and systems thinking, creates future-oriented insights and innovation strategies at Nurture by Steelcase. She focuses on the experience strategy relative to marketing and communications and is an integral member of the original research team whose insights led to the founding of Nurture.
Before joining Nurture, Alrutz excelled at Steelcase, using design thinking to strongly position the company for a global future. She spent five years with Steelcase WorkSpace Futures as a senior design researcher, bringing sound methods from the IIT Institute of Design to launch a unique user-centered research process. Her work generated critical understandings to use in vertical markets — elementary and higher education, creative consultancies, bioscience and health care.
