Edward T. Creagan, M.D.

Edward T. Creagan, M.D., is a consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology and the John and Roma Rouse Professor of Humanism in Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He is also a professor of oncology in the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Creagan has received the Distinguished Clinician Award — Mayo's highest honor — and is a past president of the Mayo Clinic staff.

He's authored approximately 400 scientific papers and given about 1,000 presentations throughout the world. He is also the author of "How Not to Be My Patient: A Physician's Secrets for Staying Healthy and Surviving Any Diagnosis" and medical editor-in-chief of "The Mayo Clinic Plan for Healthy Aging," both best-selling books.

Dr. Creagan was the first Mayo Clinic consultant to be board certified in hospice medicine and palliative care and is a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
