Camilo Barcenas is founder and CEO of Dabo Health, a robust information platform that centralizes quality metrics, makes them more accessible and actionable to hospitals and clinicians, and facilitates collaboration around evidence-based best practices.
Barcenas has spent the last 10 years in hospitals throughout the country, working primarily in the areas of creating and implementing innovative solutions to improve patient care through technology. His experience ranges from implementing the first virtualized storage solution (by IBM) in health care at Memorial Health System in Springfield, Ill., to more recently serving as the program manager for Kaiser Permanente's Stage 1 National Meaningful Use Program.
He also serves on the Western Regional Council for MedShare, a national nonprofit organization that recovers surplus medical supplies and equipment from U.S. hospitals and manufacturers and redistributes them to needy hospitals in developing countries.
Barcenas earned his Bachelor of Arts from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., and his master of science in management from Boston University in Brussels.
