General Manager, Global Design, GE Healthcare
With six studios in five countries, Bob Schwartz is responsible for overseeing GE Healthcare's Global Design group, a team encompassing human factors, industrial design, ergonomics, user interface design and design research. As a strategic driver of business growth, his team focuses on the look, feel, usability and end-to-end experience of GE Healthcare products and services.
Schwartz joined GE Healthcare from Procter & Gamble, where he was a global design leader working to transform the company's design function into a strategically relevant capability; it is now composed of 350 global designers and design managers.
Schwartz was inducted into the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Academy of Fellows at the 2007 World Congress of Industrial Design for his outstanding contributions to the industry. He holds a master's degree in industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in industrial and graphic design from the Kansas City Art Institute.
