On the first day of class, I was nervous about meeting everyone and had the mentality that I was there to get through the program, not to make friends. However, I was surprised by how quickly our class of 23 turned into a little family. What I expected to be a competition amongst each other turned into a team effort to help one another succeed. I have made some friends for life by enrolling in the CLS program, which is far more than I anticipated. I can count on not only fellow classmates, but instructors to be there for me when needed.
I was also intimidated by the prestige of the Mayo Clinic before arriving on the first day of class. I was sure I would feel out of place. However, I have felt nothing but acceptance whether it's in the classroom, in a rotation, or just walking around the beautiful campus. I could not be happier with my decision to enroll in the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Mayo Clinic. I am so thankful that I did not miss out on this opportunity.
