Archelle Georgiou, M.D., is a storyteller, physician, former health care industry executive and data lover. Most importantly, she is a zealot about helping people understand how to navigate the health care system and advocate for their health.
In 2008, Dr. Georgiou founded Georgiou Consulting, a firm that helps companies grow by translating their health care solutions into simple, compelling stories and messages, while ensuring that companies design their products and services to have a meaningful impact on health and engage consumers.
She is an adviser to TripleTree, a mergers and acquisitions firm in Minneapolis, and also chairs its Health Executive Roundtable, a think tank composed of business executives who provide insight on emerging health care themes.
Since 2007, Dr. Georgiou has been Fox 9 News' medical expert with a live, twice-weekly health segment on the morning news. She has covered more than 600 different topics, including medical research, technology, clinical care, health insurance and health care policy.
In spring 2009, Dr. Georgiou was a medical correspondent on the Blue Zones international expedition to Ikaria, Greece, where she helped explore the underlying explanations of the island's longevity with National Geographic researcher and best-selling author Dan Buettner.
Dr. Georgiou graduated from Johns Hopkins University and received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was board certified in internal medicine and practiced in northern California before transitioning into health care administration and policy. Dr. Georgiou and her family live in Minnesota.
