During my Molecular Genetics Internship, I went from being a laboratory student to becoming a laboratory professional, especially when it came to my senior project. At first, the project seemed overwhelming and I thought I couldn't do it. But, I was successful. Knowing the faculty had faith in me to successfully design a test they would use gave me confidence.

Mayo Clinic is an amazing place to learn and allows you to grow. I can't explain the sense of accomplishment I had when I finished the internship. It was the experience of a lifetime. Spending six months in the lab was absolutely invaluable. I love the culture of Mayo as well. There is such a sense of team and emphasis on the patient. That is why I do my job, for the patients, and Mayo has the patient at the center of everything.
