Why I chose Mayo Clinic for residency training
The preceptors in the PGY-2 critical care program are outstanding clinicians, with strong dedication to teaching and mentorship.
With over 200 intensive care unit beds in a variety of specialty areas, the resident can tailor rotation experiences and gain exposure to unique patient populations. I am repeatedly impressed with the excellent interdisciplinary team relationships and active role pharmacists take in every intensive care unit.
In addition to the unparalleled clinical experiences, there are numerous resources available for developing strong research skills. Residents participate in the research curriculum, have access to departmental statisticians, and work with experienced research mentors to carry out a successful, publication-worthy project.
I am excited to experience the vast array of opportunities this year and learn from an exceptional group of critical care pharmacy preceptors.
