Program Description
The Mayo Clinic Echocardiographic Laboratory in Jacksonville, Fla., offers a six-week Echocardiography Internship to students that are enrolledat Santa Fe Community College. Students can elect to complete a portion of their clinical training at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. Mayo's large, diverse patient population presents a broad range of cardiac cases.

Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville Echocardiographic Laboratory is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).

Facilities
The Mayo Clinic Echocardiographic Laboratory features state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic, educational and research facilities. Eight full-feature scanning stations are located at the Davis Building, and more at Mayo Clinic hospital.
Approximately 15 cardiac sonographers practice at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, performing more than 60 echocardiographic procedures each day between the two campuses. The Echo Lab is also active in clinical research and education.
Hours
The Mayo School of Health Sciences Echocardiography Internship Program is a full-time (40 hours per week) program. Your learning schedule will include eight-hour days, five days per week.
Class Size
Santa Fe Community Colleges selects two to six students each year to complete their clinical experiences with the Echocardiography Internship Program in Jacksonville.
