The program will:

  • Provide consistent education and training of new cytogenetic technologists.
  • Provide consistent assessment of the effectiveness of the education and training.
  • Provide education and training in all aspects of cytogenetics.
  • Teach skills needed to rapidly reach laboratory productivity standards.
  • Use outcome-based measurements to evaluate and monitor the quality of the training program.
  • Incorporate leading technology to improve the educational experience and to improve outcomes and the efficiency of the training.
  • Provide the environment and training necessary for technologists to fully appreciate the profession of cytogenetics.

Our graduates will:

  • exceed the national average first-time pass rate for the National Certification Agency exam in cytogenetics.
  • readily and effectively contribute to the functionality and success of the laboratory in which they are hired.
  • set the needs of the patient as their top priority.
  • contribute to their career field through professional organizations.
