Program Description
The four-year Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Mayo Clinic
in Jacksonville is designed to prepare physicians for a career in
academic radiology or private practice. The program offers:

diagnostic, therapeutic and research facilities combine to create
a truly integrated educational experience. Our emphasis on education
over service ensures that you will have the finest teaching and
the broadest patient care experience possible during your residency.
When you successfully complete the program, you will be a highly-qualified
radiologist ready for the demands of private practice, academic
practice, or a subspecialty fellowship position. In accordance with
requirements submitted by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
for board eligibility, Mayo requires successful completion of a
clinical year prior to commencing its four-year Diagnostic Radiology
Residency Program.
Accreditation
The Residency Review Committee (RRC) for Diagnostic Radiology
fully accredits the Radiology Residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
Certification
Residents are required to pass their physics examination
and written examination to be eligible for the oral examination
at the end of the fourth year of training.
Program History
The Radiology Residency Program in Jacksonville began with
the first class in 2001. This class will take their oral boards
in June of 2005. There are four residents in each class for a total
of 16 residents. It is anticipated that four residents will complete
training in the program annually.
