Program Description
The one - year Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship offers advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including:

  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Other complex endoscopic procedures

This fellowship was designed for physicians who are planning a career in gastroenterology as an investigative and consultative therapeutic endoscopist.

Accreditation
As for all such training programs in the United States, this is a non-accredited one-year fellowship.

Program History
The current form of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship began in 2006 which resulted from combining Mayo Clinic’s Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Ultrasound Fellowship (initially begun in 2000) and the Advanced Gastrointestinal Endoscopy/ERCP Fellowship (initially begun in 1994).

Collectively, there have been approximately 20 physicians who have completed their advanced endoscopic training at Mayo Clinic.

It is anticipated that two fellows will complete this combined fellowship annually and that it will be filled yearly.
