Program Description
Mayo Clinic in Arizona offers a one- or two-year fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck, Microvascular, Reconstructive and Rehabilitative Surgery in a high-volume, high-acuity, tertiary and quaternary care facility.
You will experience a wide range of clinical and surgical cases, including microvascular surgery and maxillo-mandibular reconstruction and rehabilitation. The program is designed to provide more than just training in surgical techniques, as you will participate in the care of patients with care providers in internal medicine, radiation and surgical oncology.
Specifically, you will receive training in:
- Advanced microvascular surgery
- Reconstructive and rehabilitative head and neck surgery
- Neuro-otology
- Facial plastics and reconstructive surgery
- Head, neck and skull base surgery
- Laryngology, including microlaryngeal
- Voice and swallowing disorders
In addition to your clinical experiences, you will participate in clinical research during your fellowship training.
Program History
The Advanced Head and Neck, Microvascular, Reconstructive and Rehabilitative Surgery Fellowship Program at Mayo Clinic in Arizona was established in 2002. Since that time, three fellows have graduated from the program. Going forward, it is anticipated that one trainee will complete this program annually.
