Weekly seminars and conferences are an integral part of Mayo Clinic's M.D.-O.M.S. Program. Conference attendance is mandatory. The following is a partial list of the didactic activities available:

  • Current Literature Seminar
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Concepts Seminar
  • Oral Pathology Conference
  • Surgical Lectures (all surgical disciplines)
  • Surgical-Orthodontic Seminar
  • Trauma and Medical Conference
  • Mortality and Morbidity Conference

Cardiac Life Support Certification
Cardiac Life Support Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required for all Mayo Clinic dental residents. BCLS courses are held throughout the academic year.

Residents in the Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program must successfully complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses. Both are offered regularly at Mayo Clinic.
