M.D.-O.M.S. Program Contacts

The M.D.-O.M.S. Program is six years in length. During your training you'll work with the consulting staff in hospital, outpatient unit, laboratory and diagnostic clinic environments. This preceptorship approach to training helps you to develop in-depth relationships with the faculty.

Initially, you'll be assigned as a second assistant. As you continue to gain experience in a variety of surgical techniques and patient care methods, your patient management and surgical procedure responsibilities will increase.

The innovative patient-based M.D.-O.M.S. Program curriculum is characterized by two prominent features:

  • Extensive early patient interaction
  • Creative integration of sciences into all segments of the curriculum.

At MMS, you'll learn to practice medicine within a supportive culture that is patient-directed, learner-focused, and guided by the Mayo Model of Care.
