M.D. Program - Career DevelopmentThrough self-assessment exercises, career exploration workshops and faculty interactions, you will learn to critically assess medical specialties and make your best career decisions. In addition, the following support services are offered:

Mentor program:
Every first year student is paired with a faculty mentor during the first week of class. The mentor provides overall career guidance and facilitates career exploration opportunities for the student.

Career exploration selectives:
During the first and second year of medical school, students have selective periods between curriculum blocks. They may use these periods to shadow physicians in many medical specialties.

Research project advisor:
Each student initiates a research project during the third year. A research project advisor serves as a mentor for this experience.
