The library Web site has always been one of the most heavily used of Mayo’s intranet Web sites.  A desire for continuous improvement led us to evaluate our site through a formal usability study, including a contextual design process. The usability study demonstrated a significant number of distinct observations about our Web site, both positive and negative, that were addressed. A user-centric data categorization, referred to as the “mental model,” formed the core of the new Web site design.  The current version is viewed a remarkable 3.6 million times per year.

"Keep up the great work. The [Library] Home Page is MY home page and I change every computer I sit at to make it the default home page! :)" -- Mayo Clinic Libraries Quality Survey
