In 2006, the Mayo Clinic Libraries instituted a career ladder program for library associates.  The purpose of the Career Ladders is to allow non-exempt library staff to advance through the rungs of the ladders with the combination of work experience and professional achievements.  Advancement criteria underscore Mayo Clinic’s commitment to continuous improvement, and center on teamwork, critical thinking, and education.  Staff is currently working on a similar career ladder and advancement criteria for librarians.
