Mayo Medical School Tuition Scholarships

Through the generous gifts of Mayo Medical School benefactors, medical school tuition scholarships are available. The Admission Committee makes these awards as part of the application review and on-campus interview process of Mayo Medical School candidates. These awards are very competitive.

Merit Scholarships are awarded to all appointees. These awards are 50 percent tuition scholarships and are renewable subject to continued meritorious performance.

Dean's Awards are awarded to appointees based on their potential for success in the study of medicine. These awards are full tuition scholarships and are renewable subject to continued meritorious performance.

Outstanding Achievement Scholarships are awarded to appointees based on diversity, non-traditional attributes and non-cognitive attributes. These awards are full tuition scholarships and are renewable subject to continued meritorious performance.

Mayo Medical School Need-based Grant Awards

This award program is designed to assist students in funding their education. The selection criterion for this award is based on a formula that evaluates student-documented financial need. These award amounts vary annually and are made possible by generous benefactor contributions to Mayo Medical School. Awards are determined by the Mayo Medical School Financial Aid Committee.

Outside Scholarships

Mayo Medical School is informed of several outside scholarships throughout the year. As these scholarships become available notices will be sent via student e-mail and posted on the MMS internal Web site.
