Licensure

The Immunochemical Core Laboratory (ICL) is certified for testing by both the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Regulatory requirements include thorough test validation, documentation, standardized test procedures and ongoing review of quality-control markers.

The ICL participates in CAP proficiency surveys for the analytes available on its CAP menu. Alternative proficiency testing is performed for the assays on the CAP menu for which surveys are unavailable. Documentation includes training and ongoing competency of the ICL team.
