2011 Celebration of Research — Mission: Possible

Every two years, Mayo Clinic welcomes southeastern Minnesota high school students and teachers for a daylong event — the Celebration of Research — about careers in biomedical science and research. 2011 was the 13th Celebration of Research.

The Celebration of Research includes a keynote talk by a Mayo researcher, lunch and interactive noontime activities, and three hour-long tours of research laboratory areas.

10-10:50 a.m. Tour (1) – Mayo Research areas
11-11:50 a.m. Tour (2) – Mayo Research areas
12:15-1:15 p.m. Lunch and program
1:30-2:25 p.m. Tour (3) – Mayo Research areas
2:45-3 p.m. T-shirt distribution and departure

NOTE: This full-day program includes lengthy periods of standing and walking. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Please plan to attend the entire event from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Scientific/Medical Content

Tours of research areas may include visual or hands-on activities that involve animals, cadavers or bodily fluids.

Media Release and Transit Permission

All students and teachers attending should have a signed release form on file. If a last minute change in attendance occurs, please present a signed release form at registration.

Parking

Parking validation will be provided for the Center Street Parking Ramp. We are unable to offer parking validation for alternate ramps.
