Research and the community

Mayo Clinic seeks to ensure that communities understand that the needs of the patient come first. We want our community members to feel that they are able to engage in the research process beyond just being a volunteer by helping determine what health concerns exist in the community, as well as finding ways to truly partner and collaborate to improve health outcomes and increase health equity.

Mayo Clinic's Center for Clinical and Translational Science seeks to improve patient care and overall community health by:

  • Working with our community on health issues that matter to its members
    • Hearing the voice of the community
    • Engaging with the community
  • Collaborating with community members to conduct research relevant to them
    • Supporting community organizations
    • Increasing Mayo's ability to effectively collaborate
    • Providing ways for community to get involved
