About this study

The purpose of this study is to streamline the The Upper Digestive Disease (UDD) ToolTM by removing contextual items previously identified by stakeholders as less important for interpreting domains scores. Enhance the overall flow of the shortened questionnaire to ensure a smoother user experience.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Providers (MDs, DOs, PAs, NPs, RNs) such as gastroenterologists, surgeons, care teams or primary care physicians who provide care to patients with Upper Digestive Disorders

--OR--

  • Adult patients 18 years of age or older are eligible if they have had an esophagectomy or gastrectomy for treatment of a UDD (e.g., esophageal cancer, hiatal hernia)

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Physicians and Patients: Those who cannot join a virtual interview by Zoom or Teams.

  • Patients: whose primary language is not English, unable to complete an electronic questionnaire.
