Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection using Stress Contrast Echocardiography

Overview

About this study

This proposal aims to fill knowledge gaps regarding microvascular perfusion and pressor response to stress among patients with history of spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) using stress contrast echocardiography.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients without history of known cardiovascular disease (including myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, peripheral vascular disease, or stroke) recruited from Rochester, MN and surrounding areas.
  • We will enroll SCAD patients who are at least 3 months beyond an acute SCAD. Otherwise, there will be no upper limit on the time interval from the SCAD event to study date or a limit on total number of prior SCAD events.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients will be excluded from this study if they are a minor or vulnerable adult, pregnant, if there is any known or suspected clinically unstable cardiac condition within 1 week of the stress agent administration, or if there are contraindications to the ingredients in the ultrasound enhancing agent or the stress agent.

Note: Other protocol defined Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria may apply.

Eligibility last updated 1/16/2025. Questions regarding updates should be directed to the study team contact.
