About this study
The purpose of the HERCaRE study aims to pilot and evaluate a virtual navigation and support platform for Black breast cancer survivors within the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center Florida catchment area. This study will assess the usability, acceptability, and engagement of participants with the HERCaRE platform, which provides culturally tailored educational content. By leveraging mobile technology, HERCaRE seeks to address gaps in supportive care and empower survivors to take an active role in their health management. This study will involve recruiting adult Black breast cancer survivors who are willing to engage with the platform and provide feedback through bi-weeklys surveys, data gathered will guide refinements to the platform to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in address health disparities within the community.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Adults aged 18 and older.
- Self-identified Black women with a history of breast cancer.
- Reside within the Mayo Clinic Florida catchment area.
- Have access to a smartphone or willingness to use alternative access points.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Individuals without a history of breast cancer.
- Those unable to provide verbal consent.
- Individuals lacking the ability to engage with digital platforms.
