Jayant A. Talwalkar, M.D., is a transplant hepatologist with training in health services and policy research. He is interested in studying the influence of health system organization on the quality of care delivered to populations with acute and chronic liver disease, including liver transplantation services.
Dr. Talwalkar's research interests are pursued in collaboration with colleagues from the Division of Health Care Policy and Research and the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery.
Specific methodologies used include synthesis and appraisal of literature by systematic review, meta-analysis or both; secondary data analysis of large data sets; and practice-based studies utilizing evidence-based quality improvement experimental designs.
