Summary

Carola A S. Arndt, M.D., is intimately involved in the design of new clinical trials to improve the cure rate of pediatric sarcoma. She is also on the national Children's Oncology Group soft tissue sarcoma committee and bone tumor committee.

Significance to patient care

New clinical studies on sarcomas aim to decrease the burden of cure — late effects of therapy — for those patients whose prognosis is good, while aiming to increase the cure rate using novel therapies for those intermediate- and high-risk patients who do not have a high cure rate.
