Informatics Specialists are highly trained and skilled in genomic-based analysis and interpretation. They are involved in the development and execution of all bioinformatics next-generation sequencing and array-based analysis work flows. The position is responsible for many operational activities in the Mayo Clinic bioinformatics program, including standard analytics, quality-control checks, documentation and report generation.

Informatics Specialist II's can act as project leads and are involved in advanced custom analytics and principal investigator communications. Individuals in these positions work closely with the bioinformatics faculty to promote and advance a variety of National Institutes of Health and Mayo funded projects and programs, including activities associated with the Center for Individualized Medicine. Prior consulting and project management experience also is desirable.
