Sex Differences

Traditionally, researchers have not taken a sex-based approach to investigating causes, manifestations or treatments of diseases, except in reproduction and urology. The Sex Differences research lab focuses on sex determinants of disease and conditions specific to one sex or disproportionately affecting one sex.

The lab specifically focuses on female-specific conditions and major hormonal shifts, such as pregnancy and menopause, and the relationship to future cardiovascular disease, hypertension and cognitive decline.
