Molecular Epidemiology of NHL and CLL (Supplement 1 to R01 CA92153)

Molecular Epidemiology of NHL and CLL (Supplement 1 to R01 CA92153)

This application requests supplemental funding to support efforts to accelerate pooling of data from InterLymph studies (supporting Aim 4 of parent grant) to address genetic and environmental risk factors for this cancer, as well as gene by environment interactions. The InterLymph Consortium (or the International Lymphoma Epidemiology Consortium) has identified that the greatest impediment to moving analyses forward, particularly gene by environment studies, is the lack of a Data Coordinating Center. Mayo was competitively awarded the InterLymph Data Coordinating Center, although no funds were available for this activity. We propose to use supplemental funding to initiate and develop the center by building the necessary infrastructure that would expedite the pooling of high priority projects, including analyses that are part of Aim 4 of the parent grant.

Our aims for this supplement are:

  1. To integrate individual level data from participating InterLymph studies
  2. To facilitate the sharing of data across InterLymph investigators
  3. To provide assistance in data analyses of pooling projects

Successful completion of these aims will accelerate the pooling of InterLymph data, build infrastructure for future pooling, and build a track record to attract long-term, stable extramural funding of the Data Coordinating Center.
