- To provide funds to support new investigators just beginning their careers in diabetes research
- To support innovative research proposals from experienced investigators who plan to change their area of research
Aims
The Pilot and Feasibility Program also has several aims:
- To identify and support new diabetes and obesity research investigators
- To attract talented investigators from other disciplines into diabetes and obesity research
- To produce hypothesis-generating feasibility data that are necessary for justifying greater investment in definitive, larger studies
- To analyze data acquired in ongoing or previous studies to explore hypotheses that may guide the selection and design of future studies
