The Biostatistics Core, part of the Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics, provides comprehensive biostatistics consulting and analysis services to investigators at all stages of the research process.
Personnel include more than 80 master's level statisticians who consult on protocol development, study design and statistical methodologies. There are also more than 120 statistical programmer analysts who support data management and analysis.
The core is closely involved in studies connected to Mayo Clinic centers, including the Center for Individualized Medicine, the Center for Regenerative Medicine and the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery.
A large range of project types are supported by the core, including genetic analyses, clinical trials, outcomes research and clinical studies. As needed, the core works to develop and refine statistical methods and software.
