Obesity And Liver Fibrosis In Arizona: Targeting The Eosinophil–IL-4 Pathway To Improve Fibrosis In MASLD

Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to define GLP-1 signaling modulation on human EOS activation, IL-4/IL-13 secretion, and downstream impact on HSCs. First, we will determine whether IL-4/IL-13 released by activated human EOS increase collagen deposition by hepatic stellate cells in vitro. Next, we will assess whether EOS-derived IL-4 and IL-13 levels are increased in patients with obesity and heptic fibrosis comnpared with an age-, sex-matched lean control group.
