About this study

The purpose of this study is to establish a biobank of de-identified human knee osteoarthritis biospecimens, including synovium, synovial fluid, cartilage, and peripheral blood, collected from patients undergoing standard-of-care knee procedures at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 16 years or older with symptomatic knee OA who are undergoing standard-of-care knee-related procedures, such as arthroplasty, arthroscopy, or joint aspiration, at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

  • Undergoing recurrent standard-of-care knee-related surgeries will have the same samples collected as those obtained during the initial surgery

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Anyone under 16 years of age
