A Study Of Quality Of Life For Patients With Chronic Pancreatitis

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine the clinically meaningful change for the PANQOLI instrument in patients with chronic pancreatitis and to qualitatively describe the patient’s experience of patients undergoing pancreatic endotherapy.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults (≥ 18 years old) with painful chronic pancreatitis followed in our Pancreas Clinic who are being referred for their first course of PET will be eligible for this study. PET will include ERCP for pancreatic duct (PD) strictures/stones, EUS-guided celiac plexus block, and EUS-guided drainage of pseudocysts.   

 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Adults unable to consent

  • Adults unable to speak or understand English

  • Prisoners
