Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine feasibility as measured by total number of patients enrolled in 1 year, adherence (75% of the enrolled participants will complete at least 4 of the 6 RLP sessions).  Determine acceptability as measured by satisfaction with the research process, as measured by the Was It Worth It (WiWi 2.0) questionnaire. The WiWi 2.0 was developed to evaluate patient's satisfaction with cancer clinical trial participation. Results are reported as individual items.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria for patients:

  • Age ≥18 years.

  • English fluency.

  • Diagnosis advanced (stage III/IV) malignancy

  • Baseline distress score ≥ 4/10 (Appendix I). Patients can answer questions orally rather than complete worksheet, if applicable.

  • Life expectancy ≥6  months.

  • Provide informed consent

  • Ability to complete questionnaire(s) by themselves or with assistance.

  • Has a reliable internet connection

  • Has the ability to utilize technology to watch online modules, & participate in virtual sessions

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • As determined through self-report, those diagnosed with a history of a psychotic episode 5 years.

  • All psychological co-morbidities such as a history of untreated schizophrenia, & bipolar disease.

  • A diagnosis of severe cognitive impairment
