About this study
The purpose of this study is to build a longitudinal lung auscultation and clinical data repository by collecting standardized digital lung sound recordings and linking them with EHR-derived data
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
Age 18 years or older
Able and willing to provide informed consent, LAR identified for consent process
Adult patient present on Mayo Clinic campus (outpatient or inpatient)
Able to undergo brief chest auscultation with a digital stethoscope (sitting or semi-upright)
Exclusion Criteria:
Inability to provide informed consent (e.g., severe cognitive impairment without a legally authorized representative)
Clinical instability or acute distress where participation is not appropriate (as determined by treating clinician or research staff)
Skin condition, open wound, or infection at auscultation sites that precludes safe placement of a stethoscope head
Any situation where participation would interfere with urgent clinical care
