About this study

The primary goal of this project is to establish an overarching Mayo Clinic Florida (MCF) Biobank program to collect, annotate, store, and distribute biospecimens from individuals presenting to MCF for the diagnosis or management of cancers including but not limited to gastrointestinal (GI)/pancreatic cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, melanoma and Merkel cell carcinoma, and brain cancer.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Mayo Clinic patients aged 16 and older who are undergoing diagnosis or treatment (including but not limited to seeking diagnosis, medical management, or procedural/surgical intervention) for cancers such as GI/pancreatic cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, or brain cancer.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Children, adults lacking capacity to consent, and non-English speakers may also be enrolled in this study.
