A Study Of Non-invasive Colorectal Cancer Screening With Direct Visualization Colonoscopy By Patient And Provider Sociodemographic Factors

About this study

The purpose of this study aims to compare the utilization of non-invasive colorectal cancer screening with direct visualization screening colonoscopy and explore race, gender, geography, provider profile, and payment barriers as factors affecting access to care.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Participants over 45 will be recruited from the Mayo Clinic Community Research Registry (McCORR) and the ResearchMatch. Attempts at reaching additional populations will be made by making the survey available in Spanish.

 

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Protected research populations (including children, prison nurse, pregnant women, fetus visit or neonate, adults lacking capacity to consent), adults younger than 45, and adults with a past medical or  family history of colon cancer.
