Overview

About this study

The main purpose of the database is to create and maintain an analysis-ready limited data set from multiple healthcare centers, including continuously updated data from electronic medical records and a linked prospective dataset which was previously collected through an NYULH IRB-approved multi-site research study (i24-00287 - GEARSS).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

RETROSPECTIVE cohort: To be eligible for inclusion in the Database, an individual must meet all the following criteria:

  • Age ≥18 or older, and.

  • Received care in the PH ED.

PROSPECTIVE cohort: To be eligible for inclusion in the Database, an individual must meet all the following criteria:

  • Have been a participant in the multi-site GEARSS research study, NYULH IRB i24-00287 which closed to recruiting and enrollment in June 2022. There will be no additional prospective data collection.

Exclusion Criteria:

RETROSPECTIVE cohort: An individual meeting any of the following criteria will be excluded from inclusion:

  • Younger than age 18.

  • Did not receive care in a PH ED.

PROSPECTIVE cohort: An individual meeting any of the following criteria will be excluded from inclusion:

Exclusionary criteria and accommodations for participants with impaired decision-making capacity within the GEARSS study were approved under NYULH IRB i24-00287 which closed to recruiting and enrollment in June 2022. There will be no additional prospective data collection.
