About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine if the exact site of the spinal CSF leak can be detected by high resolution spine MRI. To determine if secondary markers of spinal CSF leaks can be detected.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age ≥ 12 years

  • Image detected CSF leak

  • Ability to understand and the willingness to sign a written informed consent.

 Exclusion Criteria:

  • Pregnant or nursing women.

  • Patients 12-17 years requiring sedation to complete MRI.

  • Any contraindication to MRI per Radiology Department’s routine protocol, e.g. MRI-incompatible objects, including but not limited to medical devices (e.g. pacemakers, AICD, etc.) and other foreign bodies.

  • Patients unable to tolerate and MRI, such as uncontrollable claustrophobia, severe lower back pain, and uncontrollable tremors, to the point that it would render them unable to tolerate an MRI study.

  • Patients 12-17 years requiring sedation to complete MRI.
